"social" fraternity

As our non-Greek-letter name suggests, Triangle isn't the fraternity from the movies. We're a STEM fraternity — membership is limited to engineering, science, and architecture students who share your son's coursework and career goals.

We put the degree first and use the social side to round out a focused student into a well-prepared graduate. Academics, leadership, and a professional network that pays dividends for decades.

If you have reservations, good — ask us all of them. We'd rather earn your trust than dodge the hard questions.

Will grades suffer?

The opposite is the entire premise. Triangle organizes study groups by major, pairs students with upperclassmen who've taken the same classes, and protects study time. Our chapters routinely rank in the top 10% for GPA.

Is my son safe here?

Yes — and we hold a firm zero-tolerance stance on hazing. It has no place in Triangle, and the new member period reflects that: history, friendship, and getting set up to succeed — nothing else.

Is it worth the cost?

Dues cover housing, meals, operations, and national membership — competitive with dorm living, with a clear itemized breakdown. The career network and leadership experience add value long after graduation.

Is there real oversight?

Every chapter has a Purdue faculty advisor — ours is a world-renowned ECE professor — plus alumni advisors and national staff. Your son won't be left to figure it out alone.

How much time does it take?

The new member period is designed around the academic calendar, with study time protected. After that, involvement flexes with each brother's schedule — there's room for students who are also in research, design teams, or co-ops.

Does my son have to live in the house?

The house holds up to 72 brothers at 103 N University St, closer to class than most dorms. Live-in expectations vary by year and availability and are explained clearly before any commitment.

How can I stay informed?

What majors qualify?

Engineering, the sciences (math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science), and architecture. If you're unsure whether a major qualifies, just ask us.
